18th Jun, What a day ...

We nearly missed the train to Manchester, due to traffic jam ( is it bad or is it bad!!!???!!) & diversions due to the loads of construction work happening in & around London. If Bapi M didn’t know the city so well, we would have for sure missed the train.

On our way to the station, I had to rub my eye is disbelief to see a place called Mahatama Gandhi Industrial Estate!!!! Bapu … bole toh, ekdum popular hain ….

View from the window is a delight. The green pastures, with khate peete ghar ke Ewe’s &Cow’s, the farm houses that look like castle’s, the synchronized homes….. And passing through the various cities, it is interesting to note, how well kept, organized & clean even the industrial area’s are!!!

Do not be surprised, if the colour of my eyes go absolutely green, with all the shades of green that I have been seeing here!!

Laloo should give the American school’s a break & come check how the railway system works here & the cleanliness of the train & the platforms ….. when will our stations & trains be like this ……. Sighhhhhhhh!!!

Taxi driver’s all over the world strongly believe that the maze of streets belongs to them, rest are trespassers!!! I died laughing, when a cab driver brushed Bapi M aside, instead of apologizing, for stopping his cab at a turning to take a passenger. Bapi M was ready to scream blue murder ……. remember we were ready to miss the train. So typical of any Cabbie ….!!!!! Ufffffffff !!! :-)

Highlight was ,Walking in the Rains at Manchester!!!

It had been drizzling since morning. Evening the Sun decided to welcome us, so we went off for a walk, to be caught completely off guard by the cloud burst, where each drop was ready to make a puddle!!! The tradition of walking in the rain every year carries on … if not in Bombay, getting drenched to the bones happens in Manchester!!! As does Murphy’s Law…. The rain stopped the minute we reached home!!! ;-)

Trivia…. Shaun’s observation , how he has never seen Taxi’s filling gas at the gas station ….. interesting … wonder when they do & where!!!
