27th Jun, Rain continues...

The monsoon hasn’t let up here, & sounds of Tanpura resounds in the entire house. Such a musical family, where Usha Aunty plays the Piano while singing 1-2-5-3-1( Niloufer, am sure , you understand!!!) Natalie turns up with new dance steps, Uncle’s fingers drums out tabla notes on any surface!!!! It’s musical bonanza, where, piano, sitar, flute, songs & dance , are part of every moment in this home!!!

Dinner is with friends who have come to see the family from Bombay, I feel like this exotic species who they want to check out!!!;-)

Natalie plays the piano for us, she is good & one can’t help but notice that she enjoys music!!!

Trivia…. The Brits say Dinner instead of Lunch, Tea for Dinner, Supper for the after dinner snacks!!!??!! It’s a miracle they still call Breakfast, Breakfast!! Like Reshma very aptly said, that either the angrez taught us all wrong English, or it is time for us to Teach them Queens English!!! Kya zamana aa gaya hai, aab hume angrezon ko angrezi shikani padegi!!!

Do they call (our) dinner tea?
i thought they called it supper!
i think WE Indians have got it all wrong! either ours is Americanized or it is antiquated.
i don't think it is antiquated ... they always used "supper", which we have never used!
i don't remember my Jane Austen & Charles Dickens in so much detail, but i m pretty sure their dinner was always called supper, and lunch, yes, was always called dinner.
